Miami offers diversions that go beyond its famous sun and sand. While it’s true you can’t see everything Miami has to offer in only one day, you can get a taste for our flavours, colours, culture and personality. Here we go! 👇
Morning: Architecture and Ocean Air
The best way to start your day in Miami is with a brisk walk or bike ride along the boardwalk to see what is happening around Ocean Drive and to soak in the many multicoloured Art Deco buildings. Then power up with a quick breakfast under an umbrella at Front Porch Cafe—a great place for people watching. After breakfast, you can hop over to the Iconic Versace Mansion for a quick photo op on the steps outside the home. Then visit The Bass with its incredible collection of contemporary art focusing on International artists reflecting the character of Miami.
Lunch: Dine in Our Culture
Head to the Miami Design District for 18 blocks of interior design showrooms, art installations, high-end clothing stores and design studios. It is also the perfect place to grab lunch if you’re looking for diverse selections. MIA Market is a chef-driven food hall featuring a curated mix of local food beverage talent, making it the perfect stop to satisfy all palettes. On the way out, be sure to pay a quick visit to the highly acclaimed Wynwood Walls, a tribute to top international street artists.
For an adventure with style of a different kind visit Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, a mansion offering a magnificent display of European splendour, nestled within 10 acres of Renaissance Italian- and French-inspired gardens.
Afternoon: Little Havana, Big Shopping
It is time for your afternoon caffeine! Head to Little Havana for hand-rolled cigars, guava pastelitos and aromatic cups of café con Leche (coffee with milk). Sip and stroll over to Domino Park to watch the older generation of Cubans playing a quick game of dominoes.
If you are ready for more shopping, head back to South Beach to Lincoln Road offering a great mix of name-brand stores and several small local shops.
Evening: Dinner & A Show
The legendary Joe’s Stone Crab is a great choice for dinner. This seasonal eatery is world-famous for not only its Florida stone crab claws but also, its key lime pie. After dinner be sure to check out a highly-acclaimed cabaret performance at the Faena Theater. To end the day head South down Collins to have a glamorous nightcap at Hyde Beach.
