We’re gradually emerging from our weeks-long pandemic break. We’ve had the opportunity (finally!) to tidy things up, immerse ourselves in online webinars and even take a sommelier course to learn about Slovak wines. We’ve spent a lot of time out of the office, cycling and hiking in the Small Carpathians.
Thanks to the fast response of the Slovak government, which introduced the necessary emergency measures, and the strong discipline of Slovak citizens, the country has so far witnessed relatively low numbers of cases. Compulsory mask-wearing in public has become a social norm. Now the time has come to ease restrictions – and life is returning to Bratislava once again.
We’ve been receiving calls from our partners asking about the situation in Slovakia. This especially relates to events planned for September – ones that we very much hope will be able to go ahead. The main flight access to Bratislava has always been through Vienna Airport, so we’re hoping that in the coming weeks the situation will improve and the Slovak-Austrian border will be opened, and will begin operating as normal.
Eco-conscious groups of visitors can consider using the excellent train connections from the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Overnight sleeper trains from Brussels are also available.
Bratislava, our main destination for MICE events, offers much more than just its charming Old Town with cobbled pedestrian streets, restored palaces, tourist shops, bars and restaurants. The capital city is also Slovakia’s center of technology and innovation, with many start-ups and successful companies.
We’re looking forward to opening up our favorite destination again – and we hope to see you here very soon.
