Our top 4 alfresco dining spots in London

In London the great summer of sunshine looks to be with us for a few more weeks yet, so why not take advantage of the glorious weather and enjoy some alfresco dining.

We have some favourites, which work well for incentive groups and small parties, so can point you in the right direction.

Coq d’Argent is perched on the 6th floor of 1 Poultry in the heart of the City, with a garden terrace that seems to go on forever, great views, intimate seating and terrific French cuisine.

Or how about dining next to the Tower of London in the shadow of Tower Bridge, looking up at the Shard. Sargeant’s Mess at the Tower offers all of this and Traditional Fish and Chips, in casual comfort.

For a view of the Tower and Bridge, just cross the river to Le Pont de la Tour. With it’s Thame-side Terrace and amazing service, you may be tempted to stay a little longer. Its neighbour, Cantina del Ponte offers the same great views in a more casual environment.

If you find yourself in Canary Wharf, take a short walk over to West India Quay where the old style brick warehouses blend with the new glass skyscrapers.

The Sipping Room by Drake & Morgan offers their great menu, including the amazing Scotch Eggs!

Go on, head outside! In this weather you might even be forgiven for wearing a hat at the table…
