The renowned high-end hotel group Mandarin Oriental opened its new luxury resort in Greece within Costa Navarino in early August.
Costa Navarino is a popular Greek destination among luxury travelers. Nestled in the southwestern Peloponnese region of Messinia, it is famous for its exceptional beaches, featuring golden sands and crystal-clear waters.
While it is a favored spot for upscale dining and shopping among international jet-setters, the area is also home to charming villages. These villages are home to traditional stone houses, a distinctive architectural style indigenous to the region. In line with its commitment to sustainable practices, The Mandarin Oriental Greece resort uses sustainable materials. In addition, the resort’s roofs will be adorned with greenery seamlessly blending with its natural surroundings. The Greek firms Tombazis and Associates Architects and K-Studio designed this exceptional resort.
The resort comprises nearly 48 pool villas and 51 guestrooms. All rooms face a pristine two-kilometer (1.2-mile) stretch of coastline, offering breathtaking vistas of the Ionian Sea. Furthermore, the new hotel boasts an extensive wellness facility, featuring an indoor-outdoor pool and spa.
Guests staying at the hotel can access facilities at other luxury resorts within Costa Navarino. Additionally, they have the opportunity to enjoy “The Bay Course,” an expansive golf course. As well as, the Navarino Agora, an open-air marketplace with retail shops, dining options, and an open-air cinema.
James Riley, the CEO of Mandarin Oriental, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating: ‘We are thrilled to unveil our inaugural property in Greece, situated within Costa Navarino. We eagerly anticipate introducing our guests to this remarkable blend of unspoiled landscapes, olive groves, pristine beaches, and authentic Greek culture in the region.’ Mandarin Oriental currently operates 33 luxury hotels across the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Europe, with this resort marking their maiden venture in Greece.”
