Budapest, the vibrant Hungarian capital, continues to be a hotspot for industry meetings and events. The city’s architecture is always a delightful surprise at first sight. Visitors are often fascinated by the palaces built during the period of La Belle Époque, at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, some of which are still at the height of their splendour. During this era, elegant cafés, modelled on those in Paris, were common, where artists were welcome and many poets and writers composed their masterpieces while leading here their colorful private lives as well. These cafés were the meeting places of the city’s elite. Today, they shine in their restored beauty, often featured in international photo shoots and films, and remain unmissable attractions in the heart of the city.
NEW YORK CAFÉ
An Italian Renaissance-style building, which today houses the 5*Anantara Hotel, is home to the New York Café, originally opened in 1894. A grand celebration took place a few weeks ago to mark it’s 130 aniversary.
Its menu reflects the multicultural cuisine of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, featuring classic dishes like Beef Goulash, Chickenleg Paprikash and Wiener Schnitzel, alongside famous desserts like Dobos, Sacher and Eszterházy cake. Long queues can be seen every day as people wait to enter – even just for a photo.
Ovation Hungary DMC, served by our strategic partner Microcosmos DMC Budapest, has the privilege of reserving a part of the Café for MICE groups.
PÁRISI PASSAGE CAFÉ and RESTAURANT
Nestled within the historic building of the Párisi Udvar Hotel (The Unbound Collection by Hyatt), this venue offers not only an enchanting culinary experience but also captivates visitors with its stunning interior, magical crystal dome, and timeless atmosphere. The sight may be familiar from movies, where it is often portrayed as “Paris” or as a backdrop for fashion photos in international glam magazines.
The entire space can be rented for events for up to 180 guests (ensuring access to the hotel rooms).
CENTRAL GRAND CAFÉ
The name accurately describes the location of the café, in the heart of the city, close to the Danube. The art and business scene of Budapest can often be found holding breakfast meetings in the spacious halls of the café or on the terrace.
When it comes to events, Central Grand Café can be rented for up to 200 guests. For smaller groups, the 90 seats galery serves as visualy separated event space.
Melodies of Hungary
The common feature of all three venues is, that the sound of a piano or a violin make their atmosphere even friendlier.
