W Budapest luxury hotel opened in Budapest in August
The W Budapest will be located in the stunning neo-Renaissance Drechsler Palace on Andrássy Avenue, a UNESCO World Heritage site, directly opposite the State Opera House. The brand’s bold and contemporary design will play a unique contrast to the historic building.
The new luxury hotel will house 151 elegant guest rooms with 45 suites, including an Extreme WOW, a term used by W for the exclusive presidential suite.
The hotel’s restaurant and bar are expected to become a popular venue in the capital. There will also be a W Lounge, three meeting and event rooms, including a Great Room suitable for larger events, an Away® Spa, a FIT® fitness room, and a WET® seating pool in the building.
Construction of the ChainBridge has finished!
After months of construction, on Friday, August 4th, the renovated Lánchíd, Budapest’s oldest bridge, opened to pedestrians. Locals could not only walk on the pavement but also on the road from 6 pm to midnight. There was live music and a pretzel party on the bridge, and the Mayor of Budapest turned on the decorative lights in the evening to commemorate the reopening.
The bridge will be accessible by pedestrians, public transportation services, taxis, cyclists, motorcyclists, and mopeds in the future. Although large coaches will not be able to cross the bridge, it is still nonetheless good news for our industry as the Chain Bridge serves as the most important link between the two sides of the River. Furthermore, Castle Tours and other walking activities will be possible without transportation!
Dorothea Hotel Budapest, Autograph Collection is open for bookings!
Scheduled to open in November, the Dorothea Hotel Budapest is the newest addition to the city’s luxury portfolio. The new hotel was inspired by the captivating lives of Archduchess Dorothea and Palatine Joseph. As a result, it seamlessly blends the vibrant energies of a modern-day metropolis with the city’s timeless splendor.

The 216 rooms and suites create a world of refined contemporary luxury curated by renowned Italian mastermind, Piero Lissoni. Dorothea features unexpected spaces to enjoy such as Pavilon’s glass-covered green oasis and Anton Bar & Deli for great coffee, tasty bites, and craft cocktails. Furthermore, Aléli Italian osteria and BIBO Andalusian rooftop brasserie by Dani García add to the hotel’s gastronomic offers. In addition, Dorothea offers an extensive spa with a gym and a stylish, versatile event venue.
Finally, located in the lively heart of Budapest, Dorothea is close to iconic sights like the Parliament or Chain Bridge, business quarters, and city festivities.
