How do you create an authentically British experience for 700 international guests – while giving them a side of London they would not usually get to see? 

For a leading global management consulting firm, the answer was an exclusive evening at one of the world’s most iconic sporting venues: Lord’s Cricket Ground. 

Ovation Global DMC has worked with the client under a master services agreement since 2022. When its global Financial Institutions practice brought its three-day programme to London in April 2026, the brief for the programme’s only off-site evening was clear: create something distinctive, memorable, and unmistakably British for guests travelling from across the world. 

Following a full venue search, our local team chose the Nursery Pavilion at Lord’s. Located within the grounds and normally used for hospitality, the space required special permission for the event, giving Ovation UK DMC the opportunity to create a genuinely exclusive experience just before the cricket season began. 

Transforming the Pavilion into an English Pub

The team transformed the pavilion into a quintessential English pub, combining Chesterfield sofas and armchairs with pub garden benches, umbrellas and relaxed social spaces. Pool tables, electro darts and VR cricket simulators encouraged guests to get involved, while wandering musicians and live performers created atmosphere throughout the evening. 

The British experience began before guests even arrived, with vintage red Routemaster buses transporting them from their hotel to Lord’s. 

Private Stadium Access and Guest Engagement

Once inside, groups were invited to step beyond the event space for private guided tours of the historic stadium. Guests explored behind-the-scenes areas including the press room, changing rooms, President’s Rooms and trophy room, while cricket enthusiasts also had the opportunity to get closer to the sport itself.

Food reflected the international make-up of the group while incorporating local culinary traditions, with a buffet combining British and Indian dishes. Lighting, theming and carefully planned guest flow brought the different elements together into an evening designed to feel relaxed and sociable rather than conventionally corporate.
