Claire Courtney picks a historic spot in Monasterboice, Co. Louth

What makes  Monasterboice, Co. Louth special? It’s a monastic settlement, with a round tower dating back to the 5th Century.

It’s a much smaller site than Glendalough but has great energy. It is really quiet and the area absolutely beautiful.

My dad’s farm is directly across from the site and my brother lives nearby so it’s a special place for me.

Rob Allidine is excited about all that Adare Manor can offer

Love the Manor House, the golf course and the estate. Amazingly relaxing and luxurious. Can’t wait to see it re-open after the major refurbishment.

The village has lots of lovely bars and restaurants and the restaurant in the neighbouring Dunraven Arms Hotel is also excellent.

Su Duff has picked one of Ireland’s festivals in County Wexford

Often Ireland is known for its literary classics but it may come as a surprise that we have a booming Opera festival that

takes place in Wexford every year! Complementing the large Opera shows that take place in Dublin throughout the year this tailored Opera week

was the brainchild of a local family and community who loved that style of Entertainment. Today the festival brings thousands of visitors from around the world o experience world class

acts in a fresh seaside setting.  Needless to say there is plenty of fresh seafood, impressive gourmet delights and delicious beverages on hand throughout the local restaurants.

Home is where the heart is for Tara Daly

My favourite place is Dundag Beach in Killarney National Park.

It’s a man-made beach right at the inlet of the lake and surrounded by gorgeous mountains.

It’s very close to Muckross House but it’s quite hidden so a lot of people miss it. As a result it’s always really peaceful and the views are surreal!

It’s the perfect place to go on a summer’s morning to relax and read a book – absolute bliss!
